Coast Brewing Company
Coast is a 3 year old small brewery out of Charleston, SC. It's really small, 2 people - husband and wife. Only available on tap in the Charleston area, or you can make trips to the brewery on Thurs or Sat for tastings and purchase the bottled stuff. They have two flagship beers Hopart IPA and 32/50 Kolsch that they brew year round. Everything else is seasonal. I got to try four beers - SC law only allows four 1 oz. tastings, but they only had four at the time. I really love what these guys are doing and so does everyone else. They can't keep beer in stock. I got to pick up several Hopart IPAs and a few Jack Daniels Oak Aged Blackbeerd Stout. Really good stuff. Check it out if you ever in Charleston.

Rushing the Growler
The New York Times has an interesting article on the Growler- the 64 ounce vessel you can cheaply fill up with craft beer at a growing number of New York bars, restaurants and grocery stores.
Also included in the article are the usual suspects: references to disdain for macros, and the growing tendency for micros to be the rule and not the exception at dining establishments.
Would you Rush the Growler? If you could regularly get 64 oz. of tap-poured Quadrupel at Quicktrip, would it be fun anymore?
I would say *yes*.

Monster Energy Vs. Rock Art Brewing
If you want to be thoroughly let down (again) by the actions of Corporate America, WATCH this video.
****This case HAS been settled. This video is about 5 months old i believe.
This is Rock Art brewing in Vermont. They Brew a barleywine called The Vermonster. Monster Energy Drinks demands that they cease and desist using the word MONSTER in their beer.

The Beerocalpyse
Have I lost my mind, or did I really see sixers of Stone Ruination IPA at K. Roger last Friday?
They were down to their last two, with a huge empty space where the others had been.
Can Allagash, Unibroue, or Great Divide at Publix be far behind?
Is there anything Anheuser Busch can do to stem the rising tide?
Will we see Dale Jr. in the Number 88 St. Bernardus Abt 12 Car in our lifetime?
